Camping on the West Coast of Scotland

Is there anything more relaxing than waking up to the refreshing Scottish air, breathtaking scenery and surrounded by nature? We certainly don’t think so.

With some of the most beautiful landscapes around, it may not be a surprise that Scotland has a number of fantastic campsites for the perfect little getaway from the stresses of a hectic modern life.

Camping on the West Coast of Scotland

Below we’ve taken a look at some of our favourites located on the West Coast!

Number one on our list is Fidden Farm, situated on the Isle of Mull.

Fidden Farm is by no means a ‘modern’ campsite, certainly in terms of amenities, but the lack of some modern comforts is quickly forgotten when you zip down your tent in the morning to be welcomed by a blast of fresh air and stunning white sand beaches! Fidden Farm is glorious, and if you are looking for something to do to fill up your time in Mull, then why not take a trip to the nearby islands of Staffa and Iona on one of our tours.

Number two on our list is the wonderful Port Ban Holiday park, situated near Kilberry on the beautiful unspoiled coastline of the Knapdale Peninsula.

Referred to by its owners as a “wee taste of heaven on the West Coast”, Port Ban is perfect for families. With a shop, café and restaurant onsite you wont want for anything, apart from to never go back home! With wonderful views of Jura, great sandy beaches, incredible wildlife, and an array of on site activities, Port Ban is in many ways the perfect camping retreat. Make sure to have a look on their website too before booking your trip to see all of the latest happenings at one of our favourite holiday parks!

Last but certainly not least, is Ardnamurchan campsite, situated west of the lovely little village of Kilchoan.

There are certainly few better sights in life than watching the sun light the ocean between the Hebridean islands. What makes this campsite unique is that it has remnants of a volcano nearby; a unique geological experience for all visiting campers. Add to this its clean facilities, lovely beaches, turquoise waters, and complete tranquillity, you will certainly be going back home feeling relaxed. The season for this wonderful campsite starts back up in Easter 2016, so start planning!

If any of these campsites have been enough to tempt you and get you to the West Coast of Scotland, then make sure to also hop on one of our buses for a full tour of the Wonderful West Coasts islands!
