Doune Castle, Linlithgow & Loch Katrine
The tour departs from our office at 87 High Street on the Royal Mile at 09.30hrs - We leave Edinburgh, passing by Stirling to reach the famous Doune Castle, one of the best preserved 14th Century medieval castles in Scotland. It has become famous for being the set for the film "Monty Python and the Holy Grail", the series "Games of thrones" and "Outlander" based on the Diana Gabaldon' books.
After this stop we make our way to Loch Katrine. Here you will have the opportunity to have lunch and cruise on the loch to experience the magnificent scenery of the Trossachs National Park. Alternatively, there are other activities such as bike hire or walking alongside this stunning loch.
On our way home, we stop at Linlithgow Palace, another “Outlander” filming location and Mary Queen of Scots birthplace. Majestically standing on the shores of a Loch, this famous royal residence is steeped in Scottish history, being one of the principal residences of the royals of Scotland in the 15th and 16th centuries.
