Rosslyn's Legends, Castles & Coastline
The tour departs from our office at 87 High Street on the Royal Mile at 10.00hrs - we travel South to arrive at our first stop, Rosslyn Chapel.
The chapel is unique and known for its beauty, its carvings and of course, the aura of its Masonic and Knight Templar Association and the legend of the Holy Grail. An option is a forest walk on the Roslin Glen discovering the ruins of the 14th century Roslin Castle.
Our journey continues East through rolling countryside known as the "Garden of Scotland" to North Berwick where we stop for two hours. You can have lunch here, have a walk in the white sandy beach and visit the harbour of the Scottish Seabird Centre allowing you to see various seabirds including puffins on the Island of Frida (Robert Louis Stevenson's Treasure Island).
Afterwards, we have a picture stop at the cliff edge Tantallon Castle, with stunning views across the Forthand a chance to spot the Bass Rock as well as seals, dolphins and gannets.
Our last stop will be at the 13th century Dirleton Castle, famous for its walled garden.
We return to Edinburgh City Centre, Waverley Bridge, at 18.00hrs.
