Three Isles Early Bird Tour
This tour allows you to do the same as detailed in The Three Isles Tour with an earlier departure from Oban. Not only does it save you money but it also helps avoid the crowds you would encounter later in the day on The Three Isles Tour. Discover the wonders of three Scottish islands in one day taking you through the stunning scenery of the Isle of Mull followed by a visit to the Isle of Iona to see the famous Abbey, but the highlight of this tour is the awe-inspiring visit to the unique Isle of Staffa to see Fingal’s Cave and, from mid-April to early August, the opportunity to see its nesting Puffins.
Departs 0730 from Oban and returns to Oban at 1755 Tuesdays to Saturdays.
Operates from Tuesday 2nd April until Saturday 19th October 2019
The tour departs from the Ferry Terminal Railway Pier, Oban on Caledonian MacBrayne’s MV Isle of Mull, crossing the Firth of Lorn to Craignure on Mull where you join your coach. The scenic route through the island is via Glen More to Fionnphort where you board the ferry for the Isle of Staffa. After landing on Staffa and visiting Fingal’s Cave, we sail south to the Isle of Iona. See the Benedictine nunnery and the Reilig Oran – the burial place of kings – on the route to Iona Abbey.
Sailings and landings subject to favourable sea and weather conditions.
Lunches, snacks and refreshments are readily available on Iona.
IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING YOUR TIME ON STAFFA: The National Trust for Scotland has advised us that there has been erosion during the winter months at the entrance to Fingal's Cave that requires urgent repair. This means that while you can still see inside the cave, you cannot enter until these repairs are completed. At present there is no definite timescale for repairs but we will update as soon as we know they are complete
